fzf fuzzy finder on the terminal

Really neat tool

Takes a little getting used to but it narrows down your search as you type.

Has a file preview option as well

I have been trying to use fzf over the pass week just trying to get used to it, and find the most optimal keybindings using zsh and NVim

fzf is defnitely a standard when it comes to CLI productivity tools. I actually have never discussed fzf on any of my videos. Might be somethings I should show on camera at some point.

You can do some really neat things with fzf. For instance, the fzf wiki has a shell function named cf that lets you fuzzily cd into a directory on your system. That alone is really nice.

After a quick search it seems that fzf wasn't added to Ubuntu's repos until 19.04.

If it isn't in the repos, then just git clone it:

Code: Select all

git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/junegunn/fzf.git ~/.fzf
~/.fzf/install
