Introduction thread.

Post by fossegrim » Sun Jan 05, 2020 7:32 am

Greetings!

I'm Olav. You might know me as olavx200, my previous name which I have used on freenode among other platforms. I used to be really into the free and minimalist software "movement" running i3 and whatever window manager the cool kids used, but nowadays I am more relaxed on the matter. I run ubuntu on my main box, macOS on the MacBook and arch on a couple old thonkpads that I rarely use no longer. I use emacs for lisps, the SICP and org-mode and vscode/vscodium for web development and other code editing.

Thanks! And glad that there's someone else a bit younger here lol

I do sometimes look at my channel and realize just how absurd of a collection of niches my interests are lol, where did I go wrong, I should have been a chef

Hey guys, I'm Broko. I'm from southern California and I've recently jumped more into the Linux scene recently. I was definitely inspired by Derek and his videos bringing me some information about Linux and how cool it is.

I'm currently running Arch Linux with bswpm. Still a lot to configure, but so far it's been pretty awesome to work with.

Hi all,

I am Alexey (Umka is my nick name), 41 years old, lining in Germany, but my country of origin is Russia.
I can speak Russian, English and German.
I am Linux and Windows user, but I use Linux on my home automation server (Raspberry Pi + Raspbian), on NAS and in my different projects.

As of today I am using Windows 10 with WSL (Ubuntu 18.04), but I plan to fully migrate to Linux this year.

At my work I have to deal a lot with OpenStack cloud, Linux VMs, a little bit with CI pipelines in GitLab, Ansible automation, Docker containers, etc.

I am fascinated by Linux and I use LInux tools daily at my work.
Here are some of my projects for public:

Every day I open something new in Linux and looking forward to contribute to Linux community.

BR,
Umka.

Hi all I'm 00009, I'm a fairly new Linux user. I actually started my Linux journey because of DT he made everything seem so approachable with his YouTube videos. Now I am definitely still learning new things every day so I am always up for helpful tips and tricks to make me a stronger and more involved member in this community. I hope you all have a nice day :)
Regards,
